Relief.

Ready for the GREATEST NEWS OF MY ENTIRE LIFE? Well, I think you'll need a little background first. I have PFFD. That's an acronym basically describing my hips. My right femur bone didn't develop correctly and I am missing the neck and head on my femur bone. Without the head, I do not have a normal hip socket. Also, my right femur is shorter than the left. So if you've known me for a while, you know that I often make fun of my short leg and such. Well, I didn't think that this was genetic.

When Addy was born, I thought everything was perfect with her. The doctor came in the next day and told me that they noticed something wrong with her hip. My heart sank. I didn't want my perfect little girl to go through all that I did growing up, and even now. Well, they noticed that her left hip was out of socket. Exactly how I was when I was first born. We went to a specialist that gave her a harness to wear to keep the bone in the socket so the socket could develop correctly. She was diagnosed with hip dysplasia initially. There was still a chance that she could have PFFD too, as they can't really tell the anatomy of the hip until later (5-6 months when the bones start to develop). So for 5.5 months, I have been worried sick that she would have PFFD. We went to the doctor today, and he took an x-ray of her hips. He came back into the room and showed me the x-ray. Her femur bones are developing normally, and she in fact does not have PFFD, but only hip dysplasia. Our prayers were answered. Her condition is not severe, and a simple surgery and a cast for a few months will correct the problem, and then she'll be like any other kid. I bawled as I called Matt and my Mom to tell them the wonderful news. I know that most of you are thinking But she'll need surgery and she'll be in a cast for a few months?! Doesn't think break your heart? The answer is: no. This is such a small hiccup in the span of her life and ours too. She won't remember any of it, and she'll grow up with normal legs and everything will be fine. I think, really, the only people that can really understand why this is such good news are Matt, and my family. They know what I have been through and how hard it was for all of us to deal with. So the fact that Addy May will grow up normally is such a huge blessing.

Hanging out on the exam table, loving life. Her hair cracks me up.

I went to take this picture up close and she spit as soon as I snapped the picture. Notice the lovely spit mark on the camera. Nice. Also, it looks like her cheeks are lop-sided. Weird. They aren't. Hahaha The rest of the day, I didn't get much done. I hung out and played on the floor with this little person til Daddy got home. I couldn't help it.

So Matt leaves for work at around 5:40 am. Well, I'm not good enough to wake up that early... So I sleep in a little more. If Addy wakes up between that time and 7 am, I'll just bring her into bed with me. And this is what I woke up to: a little person in bed with me. I just love it. LOVE IT.

This is Addy's boyfriend. We haven't come up with a name yet. Duckie could be cool. Little Pretty in Pink shout out there. But we'll probably just call him 'boyfriend'. Anyways...

Ready for the funniest morning of my life? I had Addy May sitting up on one of the armchairs in the living room and I was sitting on the couch folding laundry. I also had the hiccups. All of a sudden I notice that every time I hiccup, Addy makes noise. Well, I turn around and this is what I find.

Today, I got a surprise text from my long time buddy, CJ Huntsman. He told me that he would be in Blackfoot, and wanted to get together. So we invited him to a Blackfoot football game! We had a great time hanging out, and accidentally catching shirts.

Ghost baby.

Eggs from our chickens.

Afterwards, we headed back to the homestead and had breakfast burritos (at 11 pm, best decision ever) and hung out some more. Thanks again CJ for coming to visit us!! :)

We went to Kader-tot's football game at Snake River tonight. We had a great time, and Addy May loved her first (of many, many, many) FB game!

Matt has been working on his Audi for the past couple of weeks, and one night, Addy May and I went out to the shop to visit with him. Well, Addy started to get fussy so I sat her on the front seat of the car and 5 minutes later, I look in on her and this is what I see:

Lounging.

So here's the new deal. I forget to take pics every day. I try, but sometimes I fail. So from here on out, I'll just post pics for the days that I do take em. Okay? Cool.

You have the right to remain silent...

Dreebits lookin at Momma through the mirror.

Little Miss got a bath today, and we decided that she is big enough for the bath without the infant sling. So this is what we got the first time she was free to splash:

Today I went to an Enrichment activity for our RS. We were canning "Garden in a Can"s. If you want to know about that, ask, otherwise I find it pointless to post. So as I was about to leave, one of the ladies told me that an older gentleman in the ward (who is legally blind) has made all these aloe plants for all the RS sisters to take home. I about cried. I guess I have such a tender heart, but when I hear stories like this, it really touches me. So here is my plant, and I have been taking really good care of it.

Okay, so on to the good stuff:

Finally...

Well, my most attractive and intelligent husband found a way to get us back in. So here we are.

We had such a great time at the concert, and Cary Judd was amazing!!

We also headed over to the infamous floating faucet. We wanted to make sure Addy had a picture with it as this is a turning point in her life. Ask Matt about that one.

And this is for Elin. Hahahaha

FAIR TIME!!!

Here we are. The Eastern Idaho State Fair. Watch out.

My pillow won first prize!

And my blanket, third!

We had lots of crap food, including a Bullseye Burger (Burger with a donut as a bun. Woot).

We saw some goats. I love the goats. The ones with no ears are so freaking creepy!! :) Addy got to see her first one!

She also shoved her whole fist in her mouth. He hand started to come out when I snapped the pic. :(

Then we went over to see Cary Judd. Here's a neat story about that: When I was in HS, my friend Chris lent me a CD. I really loved the music, and when I asked if other people had heard of him, no one had! So I continued to love the CD and what not, but that was it. And here we are, 7-8 years later, and I was on the EISF website looking to see who was going to perform. Lo and behold, Cary Judd is one of the free-stage artists. I did a double take when I saw his name... I had to verify that it was the same Cary Judd I loved in HS. And it was/is. Weird.

So anyways, we head over to the stage that the programs says he's going to be performing at, and we waited and waited and waited. Finally, Matt asked someone when Cary was going to perform (because they were going on 30 minutes late) and the guys says that he's been moved to the other stage way across the fair grounds. So we ricken schnicken the whole way there, just to see the last 20 seconds of his LAST song. Lame. Well, we talk with him for a little while about it all, and he tells us that if we can't get in for free the next day, to call him cause he will find a way for us to get in. (Neato). Well, the offices were closed, but we will find a way to get in tomorrow so I can see Cary Judd.

And here we are, waiting....

All tuckered out. :)

Another lazy Sunday.

Our Dr. told us that Addy doesn't have to wear her harness all the time, so here's out little naked pumpkin taking a nap. :)

PARADE!!

Finally, after a year of waiting, something exciting is going on in Blackfoot. The fair is in town, world, and Blackfootites are holding their heads high. Because BF is the place to be this week (more on the fair later, as we aren't going til later next week). Well, to kick off this fair, BF has an annual parade that rolls down Shilling Street. We took Addy, as it was her first parade. She loved it! Except for all the sirens at the beginning. She didn't like that:

So here in Blackfoot, there is a restaurant called "Martha's" and the waitress out front is kind of a landmark. Well, there was a huge uproar when the restaurant owners changed the model to have a bikini instead of her dress. For the parade, then took her down and put her on a flat bed and drove her around. WTF? I love Idaho.

Where do I sign up??

Queeder Beeps.

Our spoils...

We also went to his 10 year high school reunion, and this is the only picture we got. Sad:
